There may be minor flaws. Student provides an accurate and clear overview of the constantly changing universe and provides two examples of violent/catastrophic events and includes 2 supporting graphics. Student provides an accurate, thorough and detailed overview of the constantly changing universe and provides 2 or more examples of violent/catastrophic events with rich and vivid detail, and includes more than 2 supporting graphics. Sophisticated concepts are addressed and described with clarity

Student attempts to describe the technology used to study the universe or the type of data generated. There may be major gaps and/or flaws. Student partially describes the technology used to study the universe and the type of data generated. There may be minor flaws. Student accurately and completely describes the technology used to study the universe and the type of data generated. Student thoroughly and accurately describes, in detail, the technology used to study the universe and the type of data generated. Student shows a sophisticated understanding of the technology and the data collected.

Student accurately communicates the importance and impact of scientific and technological developments, with appropriate language and in a way that is highly comprehensible to the general public.
