Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 2 February 2018 9.00am EST

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A real-time procedure was executed on Jan 31 to perform a full-frame dark current readout of the Aspect Camera Assembly CCD during a standard one-hour comm pass. This was a demonstration of a new operational concept to obtain dark current data more frequently than the current cadence of four times per year. A second real-time procedure was executed on Jan 31 to swap the prime solid-state recorder (SSR) from the B-side to the A-side. This swap concludes a six-month interval of health and trending data collection on SSR-B.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of Swift J164449.3+573451 coordinated with the VLA, and observations of NGC 300 ULX-1, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Jan 26.
