Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 12 March 2004 8.30am EST

During the last week the observing schedule was replanned to include an observation of 1ES 1028+511 that was accepted as a 1 day turn-around Target Of Opportunity (TOO) on 10 Mar. Loads were replanned and uplinked on Mar 11. Observations of NGC 3384, LBQS 1203+1530, M101, G21.5-09, SDSS J132323.78-00 were impacted by the TOO and will be rescheduled for a later load.

A Chandra press release was made on Mar 8 describing observations of X-rays from Saturn. The results show the emission concentrated near the equator (unlike Jupiter with its polar emission) and a solar-like spectrum indicating an atmospheric reflection mechanism.
