Friday 13 December 2002 12.00pm EST
During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.
Real-time procedures were completed on Dec 9 to update the on-board ephemeris and on Dec 13 to reinitialize the flight software Thruster Command Processing subfunction to clear a benign overflow condition. The Cycle 5 Call for Proposals is planned for release today and announces a a proposal deadline of 14 March 2003. A Science Center software release will be made in conjunction with the CfP that includes updated proposal tools (see http://cxc.harvard.edu under What's New). A Chandra press release was issued on 11 December that describes lobes of unexpectedly hot gas speeding away from a black hole in our galaxy. For details see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/press/02_releases/press_121002.html. The observing schedule for next week is shown below. |
