Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 26 October 2018 9.00am EDT

During the last week the Chandra Operations team completed the procedures and on-board software updates to place Chandra into a new gyroscope configuration with the gyroscope that caused the Oct 10 safe mode in reserve. The procedures were carried out Oct 19. Additional real-time procedures were executed on Oct 20 to dump OBC-A and -B memory as a follow-up to the software updates. The dump will be used to update the baseline memory images maintained on the ground. Science observations resumed Oct 22.

A sequence of maneuvers was carried out Oct 25-26 to provide calibration data required to update the spacecraft knowledge of the active gyros.

The schedule of targets for the next week is still in work at this time.

All spacecraft subsystems continued to support nominal operations.
