Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 12 June 2020 9.00am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Chandra passed through the fifth, six, and seventh eclipses of the season on Jun 6, 9, and 11, respectively, with nominal power and thermal performance.

A real-time procedure was executed on Jun 5 to uplink a flight software patch that updates the long-move duration for HETG retraction to avoid a bumper impact. Real-time procedures were executed on Jun 6-7 to dump OBC-A and -B memory as a follow-up to the patch. The dump will be used to update the baseline memory images maintained on the ground. Additional real-time procedures were executed during each ground contact to reset the DSN Outage Dead Man Load.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of NGC 2276 coordinated with HST, an observation of GRB 200522A, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on May 29, an observation of AT2019wxt, which is a follow-up to a Target of Opportunity which was accepted on Mar 10, an observation of PKS 1730-130 coordinated with HST, an observation of PKS 1413+135, which is a follow-up to a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity which was accepted on Oct 18, and an observation of SDSS J1539+3954, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Jan 17.
