Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 19 February 2021 9.00am EST

During the last week the observing schedule was replanned to incorporate an observation of ASKAP J173608.2-3216, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Feb 12. Time from scheduled observations of J114306.5+680717.8 and WISEAJ101022.95+141 was impacted by the replan and will be rescheduled in a future week.

A real-time procedure was executed on Feb 12 to uplink a flight software patch that implements an on-board ACIS Temperature Monitor. In the event that ACIS temperatures exceed predefined limits then an autonomous safing action will be run to stop the science loads and protect the instrument. Additional real-time procedures were executed on Feb 12-14 to dump OBC-A and -B memory as a follow-up to the patch. The dump will be used to update the baseline memory images maintained on the ground.

Another real-time procedure was executed on Feb 16 to temporarily raise the HRC-I microchannel plate high voltage settings during a calibration observation. The data collected will be used to update the standard high voltage settings during science observations in order to account for the expected drop in the detector gain during the mission.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of 2020wnt, which was accepted as a Target of Opportunity on Feb 10, and an observation of WISEA J101022.95+141301.0 coordinated with VLA.
