Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 8 December 2023 9.00am EST

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A real-time procedure was executed on Dec 1 to patch the Control Processing Electronics (CPE) to decrease the Sun Point Angle k-constant angle from 30 to 15 degrees. This will mitigate the impact of potential large Fine Sun Sensor (FSS) errors.

Real-time procedures were executed on Dec 6 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer and to perform a diagnostic dump of the CPE.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of NGC 3783 coordinated with XRISM, an observation of PSO J135.3860+16.251 coordinated with VLA, and observations of GRB231117A, which was accepted as a Target of Opportunity on Nov 24.
