During the last week the observing schedule was interrupted due to high radiation associated with solar activity. The loads were halted at 5:09pm EDT on Sep 1 through a ground command to execute the SI Safing SCS 107. This prevented further exposure to damaging radiation for the ACIS instrument detectors. All spacecraft actions were nominal. A further real-time procedure was executed on Sep 1 to disable SCS-29, which was enabled during the safing sequence. Loads for a replanned schedule were uplinked on Sep 2. Planned observations impacted by the interruption will be rescheduled. Additional real-time procedures were executed on Sep 3 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer and to perform a diagnostic dump of the Control Processing Electronics (CPE). The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of Jupiter coordinated with HST, and an observation of EP250630b, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Sep 3. |
