Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 28 November 2003 9.00am EST

Last week the observing schedule was halted due to high radiation associated with solar flare activity. The loads were halted on Nov 21 at 8:24pm EST through a ground command to execute the SI Safing SCS 107. This ensured that the accumulated radiation dose for ACIS remained below the allowed threshold. Loads were restarted at 7:46pm EST on Nov 23. Observations of CL0853+5759, NGC 1313 X-2, NGC 2787 and PKS2155-304 (total 100.4 Ks) were impacted by the event and will be rescheduled in a later load.
