Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 24 December 2004 7.00am EST

Operations CXO Status Report, 24 December 2004, 7.00am EST

The next report is planned for 7 January following the holiday. A Happy Holiday and New Year to everyone from the entire Chandra Team!

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Real-time procedures were completed on 17 December to update the on-board ephemeris and on 22 December to perform an OBC memory dump. An aspect camera dark current calibration occurred on Dec 24.

Of note last week was the release of the Chandra Cycle 7 Call For Proposals on 15 December with a proposal deadline of 15 March 2005.

A Chandra image release was made on 23 December of a montage showing three clusters of bright, young stars in X-ray and infrared light that lie in the direction of the center of the Galaxy. For details see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/2004/db/

The schedule of targets for the next two weeks is shown below and includes observations of M31 coordinated with the VLA.
