Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 5 October 2012 9.00am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Chandra passed through the 22nd and 23rd eclipses of the season on Sep 30 and Oct 3 respectively, with nominal power and thermal performance.

A demonstration of an update to the on-board ephemeris via commanding in the weekly loads was conducted on Oct 1. This successful demonstration will allow for more frequent ephemeris updates (once per orbit) which will reduce attitude errors at perigee by approximately a factor of four. A real-time procedure was executed on Oct 3 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of Parenago523_P2 coordinated with OVRO/CARMA.
